CABERNET is currently supported by the European Commission under the Fifth Framework Programme, contributing to the implementation of the Key Action "The City of Tomorrow and Cultural Heritage" within the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development Thematic Programme

However, CABERNET is developing from a 'closed' group of European Commission contractual partners to a Network of Open Membership (this will begin on 1  September 2005). The new Membership will include individuals and organisations from around the world.
